One hundred fifty-seven Americans are set to compete at the 2019 International Adult Competition in Lake Placid, New York, from Oct. 16-19, 2019, at the historic Olympic Center. The event, sanctioned by the International Skating Union (ISU), will feature competitors representing 13 nations. This event marks the first time that an ISU adult competition has been held in the United States.
"Adult skaters from all over the USA have been looking forward to competing at this top-tier event in one of the most historic rinks in the country," said Aviva Cantor, Chair, U.S. Figure Skating Adult Skating Committee. "U.S. Figure Skating is committed to supporting skaters of all ages, levels and disciplines. The skaters have a great deal of support going into this competition. We all look forward to watching them compete, achieve goals and make lasting memories. Best of luck to all of the competitors, including the 13 Adult Skating Committee members who have registered for the event."
Over the four-day competition, skaters (who must have reached the age of 28 by July 1, 2019, to be eligible to compete) will vie for titles in free skating, artistic free skating, pairs free skating, pairs artistic free skating and ice dance (pattern dance, rhythm dance and free dance).
