It's Thursday, the first day of competition!
Despite being in a bubble without my favorite people, the fans, the excitement is still palpable. My week typically consists of meeting with our great fans, catching up and swapping stories, and putting together some fun experiences. It is different this year, but Zoom has still allowed for some behind the scenes access.

Yesterday, I had Alex Krasnozhon lead our Friends of Figure Skating on a backstage tour of The Orleans Arena via Zoom. If you know anything about Alex, you know this was no ordinary tour. Oftentimes, I try to give young athletes direction on camera and advice on how to interact with fan, but not Alex. He has fun no matter what he's doing and his personality shines as soon as the lights come on. You may have noticed this while watching him compete! It was a lot of fun and
the recording is here if you have 15 minutes to watch.
Also, if you're a fan of figure skating, but not a Friend of Figure Skating, you're simply doing it wrong. Friends of Figure Skating get to join me, Rusty Kath and several of our great alumni throughout the week on the Kiss and Cry Live, our in-arena fan video wall. They also get to meet skaters (virtually this year) at our Friends of Figure Skating breakfast and join our exclusive experiences.
Please consider joining and know that every donation directly benefits Team USA skaters.
It's been a fun week, but it only gets better today. Enjoy the competition, I know I will!
