Team USA is back on the road this weekend for two different events with 12 athletes traveling to Sapporo, Japan, for NHK Trophy and two athletes representing the United States in Warsaw, Poland, as part of the Challenger Series.
NHK Trophy is the fifth stop in the six-event ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series. The event has been part of the Grand Prix series since 1995.
Headlining the roster for Team USA is ice dance team Madison Chock and Evan Bates. The 2022 Olympic silver medalists are looking to add to their Grand Prix medal collection after winning gold at Skate America earlier this season.
Joining them are 2022 Four Continents champions Caroline Green and Michael Parsons as well as Katarina Wolfkostin and Jeffrey Chen. Both will be competing in their second Grand Prix event this season. Earlier in the year, Green and Parsons placed fourth at Skate Canada International while Wolfkostin and Chen won their first Challenger Series medal at Budapest Trophy last month.
The women's competition will feature three Team USA members:
Starr Andrews,
Amber Glenn and
Audrey Shin.
Both Andrews and Glenn head to NHK Trophy after breakthrough performances at their first Grand Prix assignments, winning their first Grand Prix medals. Andrews earned silver at Skate Canada International while Glenn secured bronze at Skate America – the first Grand Prix of the season. Shin looks for her first podium finish of the season after finishing fifth at Grand Prix de France earlier this month.
Representing the stars and stripes in the pairs event is Emily Chan and Spencer Howe. Chan and Howe have stood on the podium at every competition they've competed at this season, including silver at Skate Canada International.
For the men's competition, Grand Prix veteran
Tomoki Hiwatashi will represent Team USA for the second straight weekend on the Grand Prix circuit. He recently finished ninth at the MK John Wilson Trophy.
Competition begins Friday, Nov. 18 with the pairs, women's and men's short programs, as well as the rhythm dance. The event concludes on Saturday, Nov. 19 with medals being awarded following the pairs, women's and men's free skates as well as the free dance.
Fans can watch Team USA live on Peacock Premium. A recap show of NHK Trophy will also be broadcasted on NBC on Sunday, Nov. 20 from 4-6 p.m. ET. For the full 2022-23 broadcast schedule, clickÂ

The Grand Prix Series, now in its 27th season, consists of six international events in a cumulative point-scoring format. Each athlete or team is eligible to score points in up to two of the six scheduled events. The top six point-earners in each discipline qualify for the 2022 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final, set for Dec. 8-10 in Torino, Italy.

In addition, two members of Team USA will head to Warsaw, Poland, to compete in the Warsaw Cup.
Maxim Naumov will compete in his second Challenger Series event of the season after placing fifth at Budapest Trophy.
Joining Naumov is teammate
Daniel Martynov, who will be competing in his first international event as a senior. He most recently placed eighth at the Junior Grand Prix in Italy.
Competition will begin Thursday, Nov. 17 with the men's short program and concludes Saturday, Nov. 19 with the men's free skate.
The Challenger Series is a group of senior-level international competitions that allows athletes to earn points and prepare for Grand Prix and ISU Championship competitions. The 2022-23 season marks the ninth contention of the event.
