ISU Adult Competition Begins This Week in Oberstdorf

Twenty-three Americans are set to compete at the International Skating Union's International Adult Figure Skating Competition from May 23-28, 2022, in Oberstdorf, Germany.
 
Held annually since 2005, this event features adult skaters ages 28 and over (age 25 and over for synchronized skating competitors) vying for titles in free skating, artistic free skating, pairs free skating, pairs artistic free skating, pattern dance, rhythm dance, free dance and synchronized skating. Past U.S. adult champions Stephanie Roth, Natalie Shaby and Stephanie Knighton are among the competitors scheduled to compete, as well the 1990 U.S. novice men's champion, Ryan Hunka.
 
"Adult skaters have waited three years for the return of international competitions," said Adult Skating Committee Chair, Aviva Cantor. "The ISU adult competition provides a unique opportunity for international adult skaters to connect through our love of the sport. The competitors have persisted through great challenges and uncertainty. The Adult Skating Committee wishes good luck to all of the athletes as they reunite for this global celebration of lifelong skating."
