ISU Adult Competition Begins This Week in Ottawa

Thirty-seven Americans are set to compete at the International Skating Union International Adult Figure Skating Competition from Sept. 21-24, 2022, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The event will be held at the Elizabeth Manley Rink in the Bob Macquarrie Complex. 

The ISU North American adult competition has been held since 2016. This competition features adult skaters ages 28 and over vying for titles in free skating, artistic free skating, pairs free skating, pairs artistic free skating, pattern dance, rhythm dance and free dance. 175 competitors are signed up to compete in 241 events.

"Adult skaters have been hoping to compete in Ottawa since 2020," said Adult Skating Committee Chair, Cara Scudner. "While the pandemic delayed this competition, the host club has overcome many obstacles and is looking forward to welcoming skaters from nine countries. The ISU adult competition provides a unique opportunity for international adult skaters to connect through our love of the sport. The Adult Skating Committee wishes good luck to all of the athletes as they reunite for this global celebration of lifelong skating."
