The U.S. put an exclamation point on its ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating season Saturday, wrapping the six-event series with four medals at 2025 Finlandia Trophy, bringing the overall 2025 series medal count to 15 and tying for the most U.S. medals since 2022.
Following the completion of the event, it was confirmed that the U.S. has now officially qualified five entries for the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final 2025 in Nagoya, Japan, December 4-7.
Amber Glenn and
Emilea Zingas and Vadym Kolesnik locked their spots in Finland, joining
Alysa Liu,
Ilia Malinin and
Madison Chock and Evan Bates.
Glenn punched her ticket to the Finals with another beautiful rendition of her free program to the sounds of "I Will Find You" by Audiomachine and "The Return" by CLANN, tallying 137.69 points. Her huge triple loop-double Axel-double Axel sequence in the second half of the routine scored a program and segment-leading 13.63, while her spins all received Level 4s.
Her 213.41-point silver-medal performance in Helsinki was the fifth consecutive Grand Prix medal for Glenn, who also clinched gold last season at the Grand Prix Final.
Bradie Tennell, a two-time U.S. champion and 2018 Olympian, twirled her way into fourth with a 126.46 free program score. The veteran performed to music from
The Mission soundtrack by Ennio Morricone and scored Level 4s for all her spins in her first appearance at the Finlandia Trophy. She finished the competition with 190.38 points.
In ice dance, Zingas and Kolesnik laid down a flawless 117.51-point performance for 196.02 points overall, securing bronze and their first trip to the Grand Prix Final.
The reigning U.S. pewter medalists are recording the best season of their partnership, medaling at both their Grand Prix events after claiming silver at 2025 Cup of China. Their timeless free dance, to the music from the ballet "Romeo and Juliet" by Sergei Prokofiev, included four Level elements and was anchored by their Level 4 synchronized twizzles and a combination lift that scored an impressive 13.78 points.
Two-time Olympic bronze medalists
Maia Shibutani and Alex Shibutani continued to improve in their comeback season, setting a new international personal best score for both their free dance and total score with marks of 113.69 and 185.68, respectively. Their total score bettered their previous best by more than five points. They placed sixth in the free dance and fifth overall.
Oona Brown and Gage Brown finished eighth in the segment and ninth overall with a score of 170.47.
The U.S. delivered in the pairs discipline, placing both of their two teams on the podium. Alisa Efimova and Misha Mitrofano, and
Ellie Kam and Danny O'Shea captured silver and bronze, respectively, swapping places after the free skate results.
Efimova and Mitrofanov skated beautifully to "Where Do I Begin (Love Story)" by Gary Valenciano, their mesmerizing tribute to the love story of former pairs skaters Ekaterina Gordeeva and Sergei Grinkov.
The reigning U.S. champs' 135.30 free skate was just 0.29 shy of their personal international record as they earned positive grades of execution of all but one element, generating 8.40 points for their two lifts.
With a final score of 205.49, they broke the 200-point mark for the first time internationally, earning a new international best by more than six points and bringing home their best result at a Grand Prix event since partnering in June 2023.
With the bronze, Kam and O'Shea have now won four consecutive Grand Prix Series medals. The Colorado Springs-based team wowed once again with their Level 4 Axel lasso lift, recording the highest lift score of the event with 9.10 points. Their consistent finishes make them second alternates for the Grand Prix Final pairs competition.
Jason Brown's fifth-place finish was the 16th Grand Prix top-six finish of his career. While the two-time Olympian fell on his triple Axel, his skate to "Say Something (A Great Big World) | Mahogany Session" by Jacob Banks finished second in component scores among all competitors with an 86.11. He finished the day with a score of 155.51 for 243.17 points overall.
2025 Four Continents bronze medalist
Jimmy Ma, skating to "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" by Piano Dust Covers, "It's Raining Men" by The Weather Girls and "Macho Man" and "Y.M.C.A" by Village People, finished 11th in the men's free skate and overall with a score of 196.11.
