Icebreakers: Team USA Wins Gold in Grand Prix Series Openers, Kimmie Meissner Gets Engaged and More

The 2018 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating opened with Skate America in Everett, Washington, quickly followed by Skate Canada International in Laval, Quebec. See how Team USA performed in the opening competitions, read about Kimmie Meissner's good news and more in this week's Icebreakers below!

1. Madison Hubbell, Zach Donohue Win Skate Canada, Into Grand Prix Final (NBC Sports) –  U.S. champions Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue become the first skaters to qualify for December's Grand Prix Final by winning the first two Grand Prix events.
    
2. Nathan Chen Easily Captures Gold Medal at Figure Skating Grand Prix Event in Everett (The Seattle Times) – Yalie Nathan Chen repeated as the Skate America champion in the first ISU Grand Prix event of the season.
