Rachel Parsons and Michael Parsons of the United States captured the silver medal at Lombardia Trophy in Bergamo, Italy, on Saturday.
The sibling duo received positive Grades of Execution for all of their elements in both the rhythm dance and free dance segments. The Maryland-based team had the second-best rhythm dance in the field, earning 68.20 points. Combined with a score of 102.48 points for their free dance set to "To Build a Home" by Cinematic Orchestra, the Parsons won their second Challenger Series medal of the season with a total of 170.68.
In the ladies competition, Amber Glenn placed sixth overall with 166.25 points. Her short program was highlighted by three Level 4 spins and an opening triple flip-triple toe loop combination, with an edge call.
American Timothy Dolensky finished sixth in the men's field after earning a combined score of 197.37. Recovering quickly from a fall in his short program on a quad Salchow attempt, he received Level 4s for all three spins in his performance to "Spark" by Amber Run.
The pairs team of Nica Digerness and Danny Neudecker finished fourth in their senior international debut. They tallied 150.83 points in the competition ahead of their Grand Prix Series debut at 2018 Skate America in Everett, Washington, next month.
