The United States earned the silver medal at ISU World Team Trophy 2021 in Osaka, Japan, marking their seventh consecutive medal at the event. The pairs and ladies earned 27 points on the final day of competition to total 110 overall. Russia won gold with 125 points and Japan captured the bronze with 107.

"I've been so proud of my teammates throughout this competition," said team captain Jason Brown. "I admire their fight, heart and courage out there. I think we are all just so grateful to be here and have an opportunity to compete in front of this audience. It is so special to be in Japan and this is a cherry on top of a such a difficult year. We are thrilled to bring home the silver medal and are so proud of our work at World Team Trophy."

Alexa Knierim and Brandon Frazier rallied back in the free skate, finishing second with 133.63 points. Their skate earned 11 points for the United States. Russia's Anastasia Mishina and Aleksandr Galliamov took the top spot (151.59), and Japan's Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara placed third (130.83).

Bradie Tennell led the American ladies in the free skate, scoring 133.19 points to place fourth in the event and notch nine points for the U.S. Karen Chen earned another seven points for the red, white and blue, finishing sixth with a 127.24-point skate. Russia's Anna Shcherbakova won the event (160.58), Kaori Sakamoto of Japan finished second (150.29) and Russia's Elizaveta Tuktamysheva took the third spot (146.23).

The men's and ice dance events concluded on Friday with Nathan Chen and Jason Brown collecting 17 points and Kaitlin Hawayek and Jean-Luc Baker adding 10 more points to Team USA's 110-point total. (Read the day two recap here.)

Fans can watch World Team Trophy in its entirety on Peacock Premium. Additionally, NBCSN will air same-day delayed broadcast of the event.

The event features the six best figure skating teams of the 2020-21 season, which includes Canada, France, Italy, Japan, Russia and the United States. Each team consists of two ladies, two men, one pairs team and one ice dance team. Each skater/team will receive points based on placements in the short program/rhythm dance and free skate/dance. The points will be combined across the four disciplines with the highest point total winning.

Held every odd year, Team USA has medaled in all seven World Team Trophy events. Prior to the 2021 event, Team USA won gold in 2019 with 117 points. The United States also won the inaugural 2009 competition, earned silver in 2012 (held in an even year because the 2011 event was postponed due to an earthquake and tsunami in Japan), and won gold in 2013 and 2015.
