As student athletes, skaters have to give their all both on and off the ice. As masters of time management, they prioritize and sacrifice to continue the sport they love while also working toward their future careers. This year, the class of 2021 is not getting the send off they always imagined, but that does not take away from all they have accomplished over their high school and collegiate careers. We asked our high school, intercollegiate and synchronized skating teams to help us give their seniors some much deserved appreciation.
The class of 2021 will also be honored on the U.S. Figure Skating Instagram throughout the day on Friday, June 4. To participate, share a photo of your team's seniors, tag @USFigureSkating and use #SkatingClassof21.
You can also get your favorite graduate
special "Class of 2021" swag here. Share photos of your new "Class of 2021" gear with us using #SkatingClassof21 on social media!
Adrian College Varsity Skating Teams - Synchronized Skating
Congratulations Bulldogs on your graduation! For all the lack of sleep, late-night study sessions and hard work, your reward is here. You have reached the light at the end of the tunnel. You accomplished remarkable things in the classroom and made history for your school on the ice as varsity athletes. While taking classes, working internships and participating in student groups, you earned sectional, national and international medals in skating for
Adrian College. You trained early in the morning, late at night and on the weekends. You stayed committed, made sacrifices and persevered through endless challenges. The last four years have not been easy, but they've most certainly prepared you to succeed in whatever you dream of next. Thank you for bringing so much to
Adrian College. It has been a privilege spending this chapter of your life with you. Although your time as a student-athlete at Adrian has come to an end, the impact you've left on the Bulldog skating family is a unique legacy that will live on. It is your turn now to wave the black and gold pom-poms and cheer on the next generation of Bulldogs – the ones you undoubtedly inspired to follow in your paw prints.

Colorado State University - Intercollegiate
Give yourself grace, the road is long but the lessons you learn and the memories you create while navigating that road are just as important as the destination. Try not to let yourself get so caught up in looking toward the future that you lose sight of the here and now, because you cannot get those experiences back. Do not avoid something you are interested in doing because you are afraid of failure or of getting distracted from your goals. Let those experiences bring you closer to your goals and motivate you to keep going when things get hard or when the light at the end of the tunnel appears to be fading.
Crystallettes - Synchronized Skating
We are so incredibly proud of your accomplishments both on and off the ice. We would like to take this moment to congratulate you on your outstanding achievements. Wishing you all the best for the future and all its challenges and opportunities.

New Trier High School - High School
Good Luck we will miss you, Lauren Schmookler!
I began teaching Lauren when she was 8 years old. A great learner, Lauren had a passion for skating. When Lauren was in freestyle 4, I returned to a full-time job in another industry. Lauren began to take lessons with Jill Aybar. I was always pleased to see her progress through the levels and grow as a skater. Luckily, I was able to remain involved with high school skating part time. When Lauren reached high school, she was an active participant in the high school skating team. Her senior year she has served as the student co-head of the New Trier Figure Skating Team. Her leadership skills are wonderful, she was truly an asset to the team. In addition to her busy school schedule Lauren teaches learn to skate classes at our home rink. I enjoy teaching beside Laruen watching her pass on her love for skating to another generation. Lauren will be studying biology at University of Madison next year. We will miss her generous spirit at the rink and wish her much success this coming year. All the Best, Liz McShane

Starlights - Synchronized Skating
As you graduate, rejoice in the years and the success skating has brought to your life. You have been challenged to set your goals high and to push yourself in all that you do. You have been taught that skating is about preparation for the real world and what you learn from being on a team is a microcosm of life. Take pride in the athlete you are, the memories you have and be proud of the years and hard work you put in. Over the years we have traveled hundreds of miles, slept in countless hotel rooms, seen way too many ice rinks to count, but nothing will ever amount to the memories and time we got to spend together as
Starlights.
Keep in mind, that skating doesn't define who you are but rather is a part of you and your story. Just like a small corner piece of a puzzle,
Starlights is a piece of your life, one that was a part of creating the amazing person you are. We are so proud of you and will continue to cheer you on in all that you do! Always remember, it's never goodbye. We will ALWAYS see you later!

Team Image - Synchronized Skating
You make us all so proud. This past season presented challenges that none of us could have ever anticipated. Despite the uncertainty around whether you would be able to skate, to compete, or to even just spend time with your teammates, you never slowed down. You took those challenges head on. And you insisted, with conviction, on continuing to pursue your synchro dreams and goals and on showing up for yourselves and for each other - physically, mentally and emotionally - time and time again. That takes true grit and a powerful love for your teammates and for the sport. As seniors in high school, you understood the responsibility you had to lead your teammates by example and you did so in the most inspiring ways. We watched with pride as you actively planned virtual get-togethers, worked tirelessly through practices and inspired your teammates to continue moving forward, even when they may have felt like they couldn't. We are amazed and so proud of all that you were able to accomplish. While we are so sad to see you go, we are excited for your new and exciting adventure ahead. No matter what challenges are presented to you, we know that you will handle them with agility and grace. You are all powerful young women and we can't wait to see where you go and what you achieve. Congratulations! So proud of everything you have accomplished the past 4 years, both in school and on the ice. It has been an honor to work and develop your skating skills. You have accomplished and crushed so many goals since you arrived at Towson in 2017. And I know 2021 will not be where it ends!
Thank you for everything you did the past four years, but especially for your leadership this past year. Without you, there would have been no skating for our team. I am very excited to see where the world will take you next. We will miss you (although, please, don't ever hesitate to come and visit!) - Coach Bridget
Congratulations Sonya!!!
It has been such a pleasure having you as a member of TUFSC! The progress you made as a skater during your time with us was terrific; you have improved so much! You did a fantastic job as president of the team which was made SO much more difficult with the pandemic. I am saddened that you were not able to compete or perform this year. I do hope you will continue with this sport you love so much. I wish you all the very best as you move forward!!! - Coach Brienne

We are so proud of each of you and cannot wait to see how far you'll go as you move onto the next chapter of your lives. Our team is so lucky to have you: from the start of our accelerated growth in the team in Winter 2018, to ending the year on a high note of qualifying for Team Maneuvers Finals in all categories for our national debut and all of the historical accomplishments for our club in between. No matter the experience level, we will always appreciate the support everyone gave each other when trying new tricks and encouragement from one another in achieving their goals. Outside of the ice rink, you managed to balance your time with extracurriculars, classes, jobs and more! We may not be seeing each other as frequently or as close as we would at competitions and practices, but we will always be cheering and rooting for you! Dear Annie, Izzy, Nicole and Sabrina,
None of us knew where this road would take us this season when our world started to shut down. We carried hope in our hearts that the virus would get under control, not only for ourselves, but for you, as seniors. So that you may experience taking the ice a few more times at our competitions as seniors. We cherished the past four years and all of the beautiful memories we created together. From Britney to
The Greatest Showman to 50 Shades, you preserved, worked hard and learned that your limitations are only in your mind. When you free the mind, focus on your goals and keep a strong work ethic you can accomplish anything you want! You all have brilliant minds full of energy and creativity and positivity. Unleash your enthusiasm and zest for life and never forget that the journey is way more important than the outcome. You now become a part of our legacy. You will always be a part of all of our journeys, whether near or far, no matter what you do and where you go. You are a part of us. Come back and visit often. Best wishes Seniors. We love you. Many hearts, one beat. Love, UDSST
