Team USA Earns Two Top Five Finishes to Close the Grand Prix de France

Team USA wrapped up Grand Prix de France on Saturday with top-five finishes from Audrey Shin in the women's event and Eva Pate and Logan Bye in ice dance.

The event, in Angers, France, was the third of six in the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series.

Shin placed fifth. Her free skate to "Tosca" by Giacomo Puccini featured a well-executed triple loop-double toe-double loop combination and two Level 4 spins to earn a score of 119.66 in the segment and 183.93 overall.

Loena Hendrickx of Belgium, Yelim Kim of Korea and Rion Sumiyoshi of Japan secured the top three spots with overall scores of 216.34, 194.76 and 194.34, respectively.

Pate and Bye also claimed fifth place overall. Their free dance to "Reel Around The Sun" by Bill Whelan received all positive grades of execution en route to a score of 104.57 and an overall score of 174.03.

U.S. teammates Katarina Wolfkostin and Jeffrey Chen placed eighth, scoring 100.71 in the free dance and 164.89 overall.

Italy's Charlene Guignard and Marco Fabbri (207.95), Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Nikolaj Soerensen of Canada (201.93) and Evgeniia Lopareva and Geoffrey Brissaud of France (187.15) claimed the gold, silver and bronze.

In pairs, siblings Maria Mokhova and Ivan Mokhov posted personal-best scores in their free skate (107.39) and overall (162.16). Despite an early fall, the duo rallied in their free skate to "Die Fledermaus" by Johann Strauss II to place fifth in the segment and sixth overall.

Deanna Stellato-Dudek and Maxime Deschamps of Canada (185.84), Annika Hocke and Robert Kunkel of Germany (179.85) and Camille Kovalev and Pavel Kovalev of France (179.73) topped the pairs podium.
