Skyliners Junior Clinches Bronze in Switzerland

Podium finish marks Skyliners junior’s fifth World Junior Championships medal

Skyliners junior continued their medal streak at the ISU World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships, bringing home bronze Saturday in Neuchatel, Switzerland.

The team from Stamford, Connecticut, has now medaled at the last five World Junior Championships it's competed at dating back to 2018.

Although Skyliners junior struggled on the opening element of their utopia-themed performance set to "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," they weren't rattled. They finished strong, earning Level 4 marks on their next five elements, including their Level 4 intersection with a Level 4 point of intersection, which was awarded 9.75 points – the second-highest scoring element of the competition.

They finished the competition with a total of 196.68 and a free skate score of 125.75.

Also representing Team USA, Teams Elite finished just off the podium in fourth place in their second appearance at the World Junior Championships.

Skating with a theme of snake charmers, the 2022 World Junior bronze medalists recorded four Level 4 elements and more than nine points for each of their intersections.

They received a segment score of 122.93 for a two-day total of 191.59.
