Team USA's roster for the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series 2022 is set after the final two athletes have been selected for 2022 Skate America.
In addition to Gracie Gold in women's and Lorraine McNamara and Anton Spiridonov in ice dance,
Eric Sjoberg and
Valentina Plazas and Maximiliano Fernandez have been added to the Skate America lineup in men's and pairs, respectively.
Sjoberg, the 2020 U.S. junior silver medalist, earned bronze at the 2021 U.S. International Figure Skating Classic as well as the 2022 Cranberry Cup earlier this season.
Plazas and Fernandez are coming off a pair of medals to start their season. The 2021 U.S. junior bronze medalists claimed bronze at both the 2022 U.S. International Figure Skating Classic and the 2022 John Nicks Pairs Challenge.
Skate America, set for Oct. 21-23 in Norwood, Massachusetts, is the first stop on the 2022 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series.
In addition,
Starr Andrews has been added to 2022 Skate Canada while
Tomoki Hiwatashi will also compete at the 2022 NK John Wilson Trophy. For both, the additional selection marks their second Grand Prix assignment for the season.
